Kotipelto es un proyecto en solitario del vocalista de Stratovarius Timo Kotipelto.

El primer álbum que saca en solitario es "Waiting For The Dawn" con 12 canciones. Este disco ha sido de power metal con menos tintes progresivos que Stratovarius. Kotipelto se ha rodeado de un conjunto de estrellas invitadas espectacular donde destacan: Gas, el batería de H.I.M., Mikko Harkin, exteclista de Sonata Arctica, Jari Kainulainen, ex bajista de Stratovarius, Michael Romeo, guitarrista de Symphony X, etc.
